Construction Challenge – No Problem
Recently we installed this beautiful Murphy bed on the top floor of a townhouse in Lexington, Kentucky. There are several construction challenges including the sloping ceilings on both sides of the attic room. And the ceiling center is 85” high. The room also has an enclosed 9” x 9” pipe run at the floor level. We worked with our customer and conquered the construction challenge. We designed a full-size deeper than normal Murphy bed cabinet and shorter bookcases to accommodate this unique room shape and size.
Beautiful Features
The bed cabinet and bookcases are made of stained maple with custom trim applied to the face of the bed door panels. These panels include faux drawer faces which align perfectly with the desk drawers of the bookcases. The bed cabinet also includes dimmable LED lights in the top for reading in bed. The side bookcases with adjustable shelves have cupboard bases and matching custom trim on the doors. Each side unit has a pull out desk drawers. This unique drawer design is great as a quick desk or night stand for a book, water glass and cell phone. All three cabinets have matching specially designed crown molding at the top.
