Fall Reflections
Listening to the news this morning we were reminded by the local newscaster that it is November 2nd. This weekend we will have to set the clocks back one hour. I thought for a minute and wondered where has this year gone? So far, it has generally been a good year. We participated in two home and garden shows, Louisville and Lexington. Our business, Murphy Beds of Central Kentucky, continued to grow. Thank you to our wonderful, creative customers.
Recently we experienced a cold snap in Central Kentucky reminding us that all too soon it will be winter. Halloween was again widely celebrated everywhere this year. We had hundreds of families enjoying the Halloween on Main Street Tuesday night in Harrodsburg. It is great to see so many families out enjoying a good time and all the kids dressed in costumes.
November will be a busy month. Veterans day, November 11, we get the chance to celebrate the sacrifice of our veterans, living and dead, who have served our country proudly and with honor. Thanksgiving, November 23, will be a time for everyone to enjoy families and give thanks to God for all we have as humans and as citizens of the United States of America.
Winter Around the Corner
In December we will celebrate Christmas. All too often people get so caught up in all the gift giving and partying that they don’t remember Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Hopefully, Christian households everywhere will take the time to reflect on the greatest gift any of us has ever been given.
It is our fervent wish that everyone will have a good winter and remember the important things in life. The older we get the less material goods mean to us. Oh, we still want to live comfortably, but also realize that we were put here on earth for a higher purpose and are expected to take care of each other as part of God’s plan. Enjoy the Fall and Winter!
