Recently we developed a new cabinet door style for our custom Murphy beds also known as a wall-bed. Introducing the new flat panel door with surface trim! Our customers were interested in a lower price point with detail and style. We worked with our Amish craftsman to create the wall bed new flat panel door with surface trim as an option. We continue to offer our five original door designs including flat cabinet, recessed panel or cathedral arch, and raised panel or cathedral arch.
First New Style Cabinet Door Delivered
This week we delivered the first cabinet with the new flat panel door with surface trim. It is a cherry cabinet with queen size bed. It is beautiful. Our customer was so pleased with how it fit in her small room. The custom design coordinated with her existing bookcases. She now has a lovely multi-use space. This new style will be a very popular, affordable option for our customers.
Quest to Innovate
Murphy beds (closet or wall beds) have been around for a while. Due to the downsizing by many Americans, they are a great option again. We are constantly striving to innovate in our designs to better meet customer desires. One idea under development is eliminating the need to have frames attached to a floor. This is done by installing a weighted false floor in the bed cabinet. For folks who live in apartments or condominiums, this is a natural fit to enjoy the benefits of a Murphy bed. The bed cabinet always has to be attached to the wall for stability. Eliminating the floor attachment makes it a better option for concrete floors, hardwood floors or rental property. This concept also enhances the portability of the beds and makes them much easier to disassemble and move.
